Man reports theft of more than $3,000


Burglaries and thefts reported ¢ A 23-year-old Lawrence man in the 3000 block of West 25th Street called police at 9:04 p.m. Saturday after he discovered that the door to his personal safe was open and $3,160 in cash had been removed. The man said he had last seen the safe closed around noon on Saturday. Police found no signs of forced entry. The investigation continues. Emergency calls Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical reported the following responses:¢ Passenger vehicle fire, 11:23 a.m. Tuesday, 800 Maine.¢ Power line down, 11:57 a.m. Tuesday, 5000 Clinton Parkway.¢ Gasoline or other flammable liquid, 4:57 p.m. Tuesday, 1420 Kasold Drive.¢ Chimney or flue fire, 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, 719 Mass.¢ Smoke detector activation, 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, 1101 Miss.¢ Building fire, 4:31 a.m. Wednesday, 4641 W. Sixth St.
