Sheriff's Department investigates stabbing

The Douglas County Sheriff's Department is investigating an alleged stabbing in the 1100 block of East 1264 Road.The investigation began after sheriff's officers arrived at Lawrence Memorial Hospital just after midnight today, where two Lawrence-area men had been admitting with "cutting wounds," department spokeswoman Lt. Kari Wempe said.Wempe said the incident happened at a residence, and police dispatchers indicated that the stabbing happened during a party.Wempe said police were still gathering information late this morning.- Ron Knox contributed this report.

When are officials finally going to realize and do something about the living arrangements of these children. They are unsupervized and left alone for long periods....days...at a time!! This father has had numerous complaints against him... what is it going to take..he is uncapable of parenting his children!!

I am sure there are many people in Lawrence that are aware kids live at this residence.....they need a parent not another "buddy"

I'm a bit confused. What kids? It doesn't even say the address. It just says the 1100 block of East 1264 Road.

abcdefg - I live in Lawrence and don't know what residence it is, much less whether or not children live there.

I don't know why they are referring to them as men. They may be 18, I'm not sure. They attend Lawrence High School. It was a party and yes there was alcohol involved. My understanding is that the father was home.

I know these guys who were stabbing and for EVERYONES information it had NOTHING to do with the dudes parents, it wasnt even there FAULT!! The guy that stabbed both of them thought that they were talkin stuff..AND THEY WERENT
