Lawrence police believe the rape of a 21-year-old woman early Monday morning inside her home may be connected to two other unsolved rapes in the city. According to police, the latest victim was sexually assaulted by an armed intruder just before 3 a.m. The suspect -- as in two previous rape cases from 2004 -- is described as a white male in his 20s, approximately six feet tall, with a slim build. In July 2004, a woman in her 20s was raped inside her Southwest Lawrence home. That attack also occurred around 3 a.m.And in late December 2004, two women were sexually assaulted inside the same Lawrence apartment. The suspect in both of those cases was also armed with a weapon. Clarification: It was one incident, with two victims.Police ask if you see anyone acting suspiciously matching this suspect's description to call the anonymous CrimeStoppers hotline at (785) 843-TIPS, or the Lawrence Police Department Detective division directly at (785) 830-7430.Police also want to hear from anyone who may have been a victim of a similar crime. - Contributed by [Janet Reid.][1] [1]: http://www.6newslawrence.com/staff/janet_reid/

Sounds like someone is getting themselves into a spot of trouble when they're home from college.

Or, they are a college student here, who gets bored on breaks. He's maybe able to control his urges when he's busy, but once he's got some time on his hands, his urges get away from him.
It may be also that he plans these attacks, then executes them when he's got some free time.
Regardless, he's likely to get caught if he doesn't stop. Also, his desire for a more "intense" experience may lead him to kidnapping, torture or murder.
I just hope he get's caught before anything else happens.

I wish they had a sketch or something to go with this. Not to be too negative but a white male, in his 20s, slim, close to 6 feet describes about a 1/4 of the KU campus.

Now that they are linking it to other cases, they'll start treating all their data as one set of data, which will give them some direction. Hopefully.

That's quite a coincidence!! Yikes! How did he get in? Never trust your landlord to have changed the locks. I know PMS, for one, won't pay for it under any circumstances, nor even allow it after an old keyholder "breaks" in. I do it myself and take the landlord the new keys after the fact.

Maybe he lives here in Lawrence, but his girl friend leaves for the breaks????

"A white male in his 20s, approximately six feet tall, with a slim build."
This is the description we are supposed to go on and be on the look-out for? There he is! And over there! And over there!

no mention of entry methods or similiarities to caution the public. lovely.
'if you see a tall, 20-something male with a slim build that you don't know in your home, you could be in danger'.
morons. get a grip, LJW.

Nice discription. Wish there was a pic or at least hair color or something. I mean come on how many white men are there in Lawrence that are 6' and a slim build.

Yea, maybe if we all ask real nice the rapist will leave his photo with the next victim, or show his ID before the crime. If it were only that simple there would not be 3 cases. I know there are a ton of police conspiracy nuts out there, but what do you think, they are sitting on a photo or sketch, but waiting to release it because they don't have a model release signed by the suspect?
