¢ Gang-related stabbing?: Police on Friday arrested a 20-year-old Lawrence man suspected of stabbing a 19-year-old man in the neck during a fight downtown that a police report said was related to a "juvenile gang."The fight happened shortly after 11 p.m. in the 900 block of Massachusetts after a group of people standing on the side of the street exchanged words with people in a car that was stopped at a red light, according to a report. The victim left before police could contact him, and witnesses would not give police his name. Officers later identified him and learned his mother had taken him to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police arrested Adam C. Barry, 20, of Lawrence, for the alleged stabbing.A form on a police report indicated the fight was related to a "juvenile gang," but LPD spokeswoman Kim Murphree said the narrative portion of the officer's report didn't provide more details about what that meant. She said it appeared the two groups knew each other and that the officer thought a gang "might be a contributing factor to the altercation."¢ Gumby's trashed: Someone caused more than $1,251 in damage early Saturday morning at Gumby's pizza, 1445 W. 23rd St., by pouring food items onto the floor. The store's supplies of sugar, flour, oil, pizza boxes, jalapeno peppers, and tomato paste all were listed as damaged. Police have identified a suspect who's known to the store's managers, but would not say what the relationship is.¢ Alleyway robbery: A 57-year-old Lawrence man told police an unidentified man pushed him to the ground about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the alley behind the Salvation Army shelter, 946 N.H., took his wallet, went through his backpack and stole 10 bottles of his prescription blood-pressure medicine. The man told police his upper dentures were knocked out in the robbery and he couldn't find them.¢ Improper contact: Police are investigating a report that a 35-year-old man touched a 12-year-old girl inappropriately, exposed himself to her and tried to get her to come into his house multiple times between March 20 and June 28 in northern Lawrence. The man lives with the mother of one of the girl's friends. He has not been arrested. Injury accidents: ¢ A 46-year-old motorcyclist was taken to University of Kansas Hospital Sunday evening after his motorcycle left the road and he struck a sign on U.S. Highway 24-40 near Kansas Highway 32. The driver, Jeffrey Laird of Lenexa, was not wearing a helmet, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.¢ A 33-year-old Lawrence woman struck a pedestrian with her 1998 Dodge Durango at 11:46 a.m. Saturday at Sixth and Michigan Streets, according to a report. The driver, Rosana A. Hall, had been turning west onto Sixth Street from northbound Michigan Street. The pedestrian, Diana L. Plas, 28, was walking north across the crosswalk when she was struck. Plas was taken by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, and Hall was cited for failing to yield.Contributed by [Eric Weslander.][1] [1]: http://www2.ljworld.com/staff/eric_weslander

Goodbye Adam Barry. Assault with a deadly weapon? Attempted murder? Good luck, "gangsta".

Dude will have to deliver a LOT of pizzas to pay off that bill. Not a good way to handle a grievance with the boss.

I believe that the blood of Christ can cover a multitude of sins, but if you steal an old man's teeth, you will go to hell.

Poor old dude. Maybe he didn't realize that he was walking in a dark alleyway behind a homeless shelter. I imagine that the maraca-like sound of ten bottles of pills would attract attention. Wait... he had TEN BOTTLES OF PILLS ON HIM? Surely more than one crime has been committed in the making of this story.

Note to 35-year old who touches girls: Turning yourself in may be the only way to avoid a major old-school beatdown. Then you'd be in jail anyway, except that the beat-down-ers would be in there with you. "Shank!"

Thanks for the clarification. I made the error of looking down on him because I assumed that he was illegally in possession of drugs. My bad.

I was hoping to read that the driver who hit the pedestrian was talking on her cell phone at the time of the accident...

It's most likely not a delivery driver that trashed Gumby's. Trust me on this one. Drivers are almost never in the store and they are well-paid compared to in-store help. My guess it's the AM opening cook. In-stores are high pressure, barely minumum wage jobs, and I could understand it sometimes when they snap. It's probably not even management-related.

He had some issues with a can of jalepenos. There was some pushing and shoving, then a couple of 20# bags of flour started trash-talking. The tomato sauce got involved, and then all heck broke loose. By the time it was over, several bags, bottles and cans of product lay in a pool of their collective juices. It took them 4 hours to draw all the chalk lines around the individual pieces of jalepeno peppers...

This girl and the 35 year old played for over 3 months without a complaint? My guess is the girlfriend or the girl's friend caught them in the act, or the she missed her period, and then the cops got called. There is a reason why underaged girls are called jail bait.

so she was scared to tell...maybe wasnt sure if she should or thought she would get into trouble if no one believed her. sigmund? did you see she was 12? underage girl? this is a child and if he was attempting to lure her in he should be jailed or better yet hung from the nearest tree. missed her period? were you thinking? seriously.

"There is a reason why underaged girls are called jail bait."

Yeah, because the grown men who prey upon them need to try and shift the blame.
