A judge this morning postponed a trial for a man charged in a shooting outside a downtown night club to give defense attorneys more time to watch 143 videotaped police interviews with witnesses.Mark Manna, a defense attorney for Rashawn T. Anderson, said the defense received the videos in late November and wouldn’t have time to watch them all prior to the Jan. 22 trial.”We do feel that we are under an obligation to watch all these DVDs,” Manna said.The prosecutor, Assistant Dist. Atty. Trent Krug, objected to the delay, saying that the state only anticipated calling 40 to 45 witnesses and that the interviews were summarized in written reports given to the defense weeks ago.But Judge Paula Martin agreed to Manna’s request and scheduled a tentative trial date for March 5.Anderson is charged with shooting and killing Robert Earl Williams, 46, Lawrence, after an argument Feb. 5 on the sidewalk outside The Granada, 1020 Mass.-contributed by Eric Weslander.
