Vehicles spray-painted over weekend
Sometime late Friday night or Saturday morning, someone wielding a can of spraypaint had a heyday, leaving several cars parked along the block with a new, unwanted paint job.According to Lawrence Police, someone delivering the Journal-World between the 1100 and 1300 blocks of E. 21st st. noticed several cars splotched with spray paint. When police arrived, they found five vehicles coated with paint parked along the south side of the street or in nearby driveways.A brown Honda parked on the 1200 block of E. 21st st. appeared to have gotten the worst of it, police said, with spraypaint found on the hood, drivers front and rear fenders, and both doors and windows on the left side of the car.Police wouldn't release the color of the spray paint Monday - that was detail still part of evidence in the investigation, spokeswoman Kim Murphree said - and no arrests have been made in the criminal damage cases.

The color could not be released, as they are currently looking for anyone with a suspiciously painted fingertip.

Would you have been more impressed, Egypt, had the vandals broken out the windows, bashed all of the lights and stolen all of the stereos and cd players? You seemed bothered by the fact that the crime wasn't more serious or damaging. I find that interesting.

Did one of the cars have "Honky Lips" sprayed on it?

You all may think it's funny that LJ would wrote an article on this but, it's great information for everyone. I had a guest from out of town stay the night and his car got sprayed painted. This happened about a month ago. This has actually been going on all around Lawrence. So it is actually a serious thing. Think about how much money some have to pay to get their car repainted!
