Woman arrested for 'aiding a felon'

¢ Lawrence Police arrested a 45-year-old Lawrence woman Monday night for littering, aiding a felon, possession of stolen property, driving on a suspended license, and driving with an open alcohol container. According to a report, officers stopped Paula Annetta Hines about 10:30 p.m. near 21st Street and Ousdahl Road because she was driving a vehicle associated with a "known felon" who is wanted for questioning in a domestic-battery case. Officers allegedly saw her throw a can of beer from the vehicle into a bush and recovered items from her trunk that were believed to have been stolen from a local grocery store. The man officers were seeking had not been arrested as of this morning. ¢ 1100 section of North 1000 Road: More than $4,500 in property, including hand toools, a weight set, a television and speakers, were stolen from in a home burglary between July 10 and Aug. 1, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.¢ An 84-year-old man living in the 1600 block of Pennsylvania Street told police an unidentified woman may have stolen his wallet and $35 cash after coming to his home early Thursday morning, asking for a drink of water, using the restroom and using the telephone. The man told police the woman may have been a caretaker for his neighbor. Police are working with the neighbor's health-care provider to try to identify the woman.

justathought, I agree, people are pretty messed up. The worse part is that they are breeding. I hope we get an efficient means of launching payload carrying rockets to the sun sometime soon.

As for the elderly man, looks like he just got a taste of "no good deed goes unpunished."

no wonder it took 21 days for everything to get stolen, I mean they stole a whole weight bench.

however minute it might seem.. i'm glad they noticed the littering cause throwing something away is just so easy to do and it really pisses me off to see people tossing their trash out their car windows... even if it is just a cigarrate butt. all the little things we can do that will help the environment..
