Man arrested in stabbing

A 36-year-old Lawrence man is in the Douglas County Jail today awaiting charges in a Monday night stabbing incident at 26th Street and Redbud Lane.Richard J. Tebe was booked into jail on suspicion of aggravated battery and domestic battery in connection with the stabbing incident and failure to appear in court in another case, according to the jail log.Lawrence police responded to a report of a stabbing at 9:26 p.m. Monday. Police identified the victim only as a 43-year-old man who was flown by air ambulance helicopter to a Kansas City area hospital. His condition was unavailable this morning.Police said the victim was injured after he interjected himself into a domestic disturbance between a man and a woman.¢ Lawrence Police also are investigating the theft of an air conditioner unit at Health Care Access, 1920 Moodie Road. Police were called by the medical clinic at shortly before 10 a.m. today.¢ A Topeka woman was injured when the 2001 P.T. Cruiser she was driving left the road and overturned about 1:15 p.m. Sunday, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.The accident occurred on Douglas County Route 458 and North 1075 Road southwest of Lawrence near Clinton Lake.Elizabeth Gowdy, 49, was taken by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.- Contributed by [Mike Belt][1] [1]: http://www2.ljworld.com/staff/mike_belt/

I hope the stabbing victim is going to be okay. It is rare that someone steps in to help a woman who is being attacked by her partner.

hope the topeka woman is ok sounds like it. Now in this heat wave I am surprised that more of these types of thefts have not accured. What took the cops so long in that arrest??

I drove by there (Ridge ct) at 12:30am last night. There were emergency vehicles still there and two were on the way. Anyone know what happen?
