Michigan State’s Cassius Winston excited to face childhood friend Josh Jackson

Tulsa, Okla. — When Kansas meets Michigan State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, it will be a reunion for a few players.

Michigan State freshmen Cassius Winston and Miles Bridges played alongside Kansas freshman Josh Jackson when they were all growing up in Michigan. Winston believes he started playing alongside Jackson in the second or third grade.

“You definitely can’t see nothing like that coming,” Winston said if he predicted Jackson would be one of the top players in the country. “I wouldn’t have thought Josh Jackson become the player that he has become. It’s just crazy remembering back what we used to be and how far we’ve come.”
