Perry Ellis finding offensive balance

The past three games, Kansas senior forward Perry Ellis has been nearly unstoppable offensively, converting on 26 of his 34 field-goal attempts. Ellis says he has found a nice balance between asserting himself and being patient with the ball in his hands.

Ellis also gets into his improved perimeter shooting this season — the senior enters Saturday’s rematch with Oklahoma having made 19 of 40 from 3-point range. In the offseason, Ellis explains, KU coach Bill Self advised him to practice NBA-distance 3-pointers.

“It helped just stretch my range,” Ellis says. “… At first it wasn’t real comfortable shooting those shots, you know. Then gradually it started getting better and better, and it worked out.”

The senior also recalls the great practice KU had prior to the first OU game and talks about what the Jayhawks expect out of the rematch.
