Fun with Lawrence music on YouTube

It’s Friday, and because I love you I’ve decided to give you something fun to watch at work while you’re counting down the hours until the weekend starts. Sssh!! Don’t tell the boss!

I’ve been spending a lot of time geeking out on YouTube lately, and decided to showcase some fun Lawrence music clips. These aren’t new, but they may be new to you.

Oh, and by the way, during my search for Lawrence music on YouTube I discovered that there are WAY too many clips of Buckethead. We get it. Now knock it off.

Here’s a crazy old news story from some nerdy reporter WAAAAAY back in the day highlighting the Lawrence music scene. Do you remember these bands? Anyway, the reporter keeps calling Lawrence “the next Seattle.” To which one of the musicians featured responds with “Why would you want to be the next Seattle. Why wouldn’t you just wanna be the next LAWRENCE?” Other memorable quotes include “We wanna grab the tittie of rock and roll and milk it for all its worth.” Just precious.

If you’re a fan of The Turnpike (wooti woot!), they regularly upload their promos to YouTube. It gets me all sorts of hyped up to set my DVR.

And if you love Lawrence music AND Jodie Foster, but don’t know what to do about it, then luckily a certain someone has meshed the two together to create a psychedelic love child ready to melt your face with awesomeness. Here’s a remix of White Flight’s “Panther,” set to the beautiful images of Jodie Foster in “Contact.”

Also, I like any music video that showcases different areas in Lawrence.
