You can fit live music just about anywhere these days

So, on Saturday I went to check out the Lawrence Art Tougeau Parade. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s a parade that features art cars. I had the pleasure of covering the parade last year for my documentary.

I was pleased to see the live music art car make a comeback this year.

Yup, that’s a live band fixed into a truck. They were pretty rockin’.

Here’s a clip, although it’s short (gimme a break! it’s a moving parade!), and was one of their slower songs.

Ah, Lawrence. You’re awesome.

Here are some other highlights from the Art Tougeau Parade.

Bottle cap car with spiny thing on the front:

Pinata art car:

The Dragon Wagon!

And there were a lot of art bikes featured in the parade. My favorites were the surfer ones (surfboard on top of bikes):

And this one got a lot of laughs. Some sort of rasta car. If you look closely, you’ll see the thing has dreads on it. Ha! That’s me laughing and pointing in amusement.

Nifty, no?

And if you’re ever curious, there’s a flickr group with photos from parades past.
