Godzillionaire, The Bus Company and more to raise money for Pet World

If you’re an animal lover and you enjoy live music, kindly make your way to the Replay this weekend.

Two events will help raise money for Pet World after a fire damaged the store and killed several animals over the summer. There will be an early show, a matinee, on the patio at 6 p.m., followed by a late show at 10 p.m. Both feature an array of bands, ranging from bluegrass to indie and hardcore rock.

The early show will feature the musical talents of The Bus Company, Real Adults, and Throckmorton Potentate & The Weird Machine. Because it’s early, it will be a family-friendly affair (so bring the kids). This event asks for a $3 donation, but you can always give more.

The late show features hard-rockers Godzillionaire, Scrappy’s Attic and The Waterdog Nation.

Since the fire, the pet store has been working tirelessly to get back to a sense of normalcy. Just this August, they worked on gutting and rebuilding the store, brought their managers back up to full-time status and are working on more intense fire safety efforts.

Mike Thompson, a drummer with Waterdog Nation, is close with the owners of the store and helped organize the event.

“After hearing of the fire that occurred at Pet World, we wanted to help in some way — and after playing in many benefits and organizing several ourselves decided that was the best way we could contribute,” Thompson says. “The Replay Lounge didn’t hesitate to provide the venue, and the music groups stepped up to provide their talents and time to help ease the financial worries and stress that come along with a tragedy of this nature.”

Here’s a clip of Godzillionaire, who will be performing at the late show:
