Don’t be fooled by voter scams

Don’t let people scam you out of your right to vote, Kansas University told its students on its public safety Web site today.The site warns of a hoax e-mail message circulated on a closed e-mail list at George Mason University. The message reads:”Subject: Election Day Update To the Mason Community:Please note that election day has been moved to November 5th. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.Peter N. Stearns Provost”If anyone at KU (or anyone else, for that matter) should receive any strange messages, the site refers them to several useful sites pointing to knowledgeable folks who know what’s going on, including the wonderful KU Info and Douglas County Clerk’s office.Anyone receiving messages thought to be spam at KU should forward them as attachments to abuse@ku.edu.
