KU ranks 25th among large schools for number of Peace Corps volunteers

Kansas University likes to tout the number of students it sends to the Peace Corps as volunteers.In the past few years, that number had consistently increased. But after hitting 17th last year, KU’s ranking fell back to 25th, the same spot it had occupied in 2004.According to statistics from the Peace Corps, there are currently 43 KU alumni active in the Peace Corps, good for a three-way tie at 25th. There were 49 alumni in the Peace Corps last year, when KU was 17th.That number this year would have been good for an 18th ranking. KU has sent more than 840 alumni to the Peace Corps since its inception in 1961.
