The basketball team, which while playing all road games made a run to the state basketball tournament, was featured this morning. As part of gifts CBS is giving the community, the network brought in Jayhawk basektball players Sasha Kaun, Darnell Jackson, Jeremy Case, all seniors who have played their last college game, as well as assistant coach Danny Manning and athletic director Lew Perkins.”Any time you can put together a season that’s one of the best in your program’s history, it’s special,” Manning said. This state tournament run is the best in Greensburg High’s history.CBS also purchased warm-ups and other KU paraphernalia to distribute to members of the basketball team. During the show, the CBS hosts made a point to say they purchased this merchandise because if KU’s athletic department had it would have constituted an NCAA rules violation. You can view the basketball segment here.
