Ali Kemp Foundation brings self-defense classes to KU

Three Kansas University greek chapters are helping to bring self-defense classes to the Kansas University campus Sept. 12.The classes honor [Ali Kemp][1], a former Kansas State student from Leawood who was killed at a swimming pool in June of 2002. Ever since her death, friends and family have been offering [women's self-defense classes][2], in an effort to make sure other women do not become victims.The classes, which will be held at Robinson Gym, will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Registration is available onsite or at [the TAKE Defense Web site][3].KU is the first of several stops for the TAKE Defense group's training sessions. Throughout the fall and summer, the group will visit other schools.
