Newest Big 12 rankings – KU in sixth place for Dave Matthews concert
Dave Matthews is coming to a campus somewhere in the country, and KU students (and Lawrence residents) have a chance to bring him right here to Lawrence.Of course, he was just at Verizon Amphitheater in Kansas City, but who wouldn’t like to see him rock out Lawrence? AT&T is sponsoring a contest to see which school will get their very own concert with Dave. The contest is based on which school sends the largest number of “invites,” defined as text messages from AT&T phones to a specific number. Details are available on [this Web site][2]. Of course, standard text messaging rates apply. Texters must also be on AT&T subscribers, which includes those who had Cingular. We’ve been looking for a program on the Internet where someone could send an AT&T text without having an AT&T phone, but so far no luck. If you have one, [send me an e-mail and I’ll update this site.][3]Right now, KU is parked in 45th place, which is down from last night. Iowa State is leading the competition, which is open to all 119 schools in the division formerly known as I-A.Big 12 schools Baylor, Nebraska, Missouri, Colorado and Texas are also all in front of Kansas. Kansas State is sitting at No. 63. [3]: mailto:jkealing@ljworld.com
