Three win Ellsworth awards

Three Kansas University alumni will receive Fred Ellsworth Medallions for their work to support the school.Richard L. “Dick” Bond, Overland Park; James B. Martin, Lawrence; and Linda Duston Warren, Hanover, will receive their awards at a reception and dinner Sept. 7.The awards, which have been given out every year since 1975, honor Fred Ellsworth, a longtime leader of the KU Alumni Association.Bond, a former chairman of the Kansas Board of Regents, has received several other awards from the university, as well as the School of Law. Martin, a trustee of the KU Center for Research, led the endowment association in two major fundraising initiatives, KU First and Campaign Kansas. Warren, a member of the KU Women’s Hall of Fame, is a doctor specializing in rural medicine in Hanover.All three have held major positions with the alumni association as well.
