28 KU students receive tuition waiver

When disaster struck in southern Kansas earlier this year, first Kansas University then the rest of the Regents system announced that students could apply for tuition waivers.Today, KU announced that 38 students applied for the waivers, with 28 being approved, said Diane Goddard, KU associate vice provost and comptroller. Of the 10 that were not approved, nine were from students who had already paid their tuition in full.KU spokeswoman Jill Jess said that the 10th student did not meet the eligibility requirements set out by the Board of Regents.
