City Band has new rain-out policy
The Lawrence City Band has announced a new rain-out policy.
In the past, concerts canceled because of rain were just that — canceled. From now on, though, those concerts will be moved indoors to Room 130 Murphy Hall, on the Kansas University campus. They'll still be at 8 p.m. Wednesdays, the same time they're scheduled for at South Park.
"There is plenty of free parking across the street, and it is very accessible," band director Bob Foster wrote in an e-mail today.
The first concert of this year's season was canceled last week. Last night's concert went on as scheduled.
Next week's concert, at 8 p.m. Wednesday, is the annual Children's Concert, which will include a parade of children through South Park, led by KU drum majors.

Where does one get information about being a musician in the city band? Even though it's probably too late for this year, I'd like to know for next year! Thanks!
