Gallery schedules reopening celebration

A local art gallery is celebrating its reopening with a celebration Friday night.

Diane’s Artisan Gallery is moving from a second-story location at 801 1/2 Mass. to 4 E. Seventh St., next to The Raven Bookstore. Diane Horning, who owns the gallery, says it’s a positive step for downtown Lawrence during a time much focus has been put on businesses closing or moving away.

The gallery features Horning’s own handwoven clothing and the works of more than 30 local and national artists, includes jewelry, art glass, pottery, fiber, wood and leather.

The reception is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and will feature drawings for gift certificates and other specials.

    Congratulations, Diane!

While it only took me a few weeks to locate the second-floor gallery, it's a cinch I'll find it the first time located next to the Raven.

For those of you who love the spirit of Lawrence, which is the spirit of diversity and inclusion, please visit Diane's Artisan Gallery. If you're looking for a special, unique gift idea, you're spot on.
