A reminder to fans of the Spencer Museum of Art at Kansas University: The museum is trimming its hours starting today.The Spencer will close an hour earlier each day. The new hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday (except open through 8 p.m. Thursdays), noon-4 p.m. Sundays and closed Mondays.The Spencer says closing the galleries and turning off the lights for an extra hour will help reduce staffing and utility costs.The Spencer isn’t the only KU museum that has trimmed hours. Last month, the Natural History Museum started closing on Mondays. Its hours now are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sundays.
