Woodlawn science club awarded $500 DuPont Pioneer grant

The Woodlawn School Science Club has been awarded a $500 grant from DuPont Pioneer that will be used to help fifth-grade students compete in this year’s science fair.

“We are incredibly grateful for receiving this grant,” said Michelle Iwig-Harmon, a Woodlawn parent and coordinator of the science club. “Removing the financial barrier has made it possible for every fifth-grade Woodlawn student to complete a science fair project this year, really increasing their knowledge and excitement about science.”

This year’s Science and Engineering Fair is scheduled for Feb. 8-9 at Southwest Middle School.

DuPont Pioneer is the agricultural division of DuPont. It is the world’s leading developer and supplier of advanced plant genetics and produces seeds for farmers in more than 90 countries.
