Former governors Carlin, Graves join campaign to reduce national debt

Topeka — Former Kansas governors John Carlin and Bill Graves have joined a non-partisan group seeking legislation to reduce the national debt.

Carlin, a Democrat, and Graves, a Republican, have become members of the Governors Fiscal Leadership Council, which includes 41 former governors.

The council is part of the Campaign to Fix the Debt, which includes members with a broad range of perspectives. Carlin served as governor from 1979 to 1987 and Graves from 1995 to 2003.

Fix the Debt is a bunch of deluded idiots out to gut Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid. If you really want to fix the debt, grow the economy and quit spending so much of our money on wars and subsidies to oil companies.
