The proposal would eliminate sophomore sports, eighth-grade “B” games and secondary intramural programs for both boys and girls. The plan also would drop cheerleading programs at the four junior highs.

The school board will consider on Monday an alternative proposal that would require students to pay to participate in athletic programs.
