Is the Alfred Packer Memorial String Band going to play at the post office on April 15?
For the 15th year in a row, the band will play for people filing their taxes at the last minute, said band member Steve Mason.
The six-piece, old-time string band will play from 9 p.m. to midnight.
The tradition started 16 years ago when Mason paid his taxes at 10 p.m. April 15.
"I had that feeling like after you take an exam a letdown of pressure," he said. "I was kind of looking for a party, and there wasn't one."
The next year, the band brought its own party to post office. Some years, a masseuse or people passing out food have been there, too, Mason said.
