Three years ago Lawrence resident Renée Morgan lost most of her vision. Despite suffering through Leber’s Hereditary Optical Neuropathy, Morgan fills her days with music and meditation to as healing mechanisms.

Lawrence resident Renee Morgan plays her bass in her home on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014. Three years ago, Morgan began losing her sight as she was diagnosed with LeberÕs Hereditary Optic Neuropathy. Since losing most of her vision, Morgan says she has taken to mediation and playing the bass as a healing mechanism.

Large letters representing musical notes are written on pages for Morgan by her music instructor. Morgan says she is unable to read traditional music because the notes are much too small, however, she can read large letters as very close range.
