All Woodlawn School students receive bears as presents December 20, 2013

Students from Woodlawn School were treated to a nice surprise as over 230 bears were handed out to each student as a gift from the KU Center for Community Outreach.

While this is a good gesture for the kids it is also a slap in the face to the parents of these kids. I know for a fact of professors, USPS workers and others that make a very decent living that are not and should not be considered socio-economically disadvantaged or "POOR". So are they saying that Kennedy kids are all poor and wont get anything for Christmas so lets get them something for Christmas. This is really irritating. Kids on the East side and in North Lawrence are considered poor because they don't live on the West side of town!

This was such a sweet gesture! Our boys both love their bears - even our little "tough guy" :) Much thanks to KU Center for Community Outreach!
