Note to men in this race or any other: please stop wearing those Richard Simmons short shorts. They are so unnecessary and at times reveal things that NO ONE wants to see.

Note to whiny complainers, if you don't like it no one is forcing you to look. Please use your freedom of choice to look away instead of trying to force your views on other people.

Try running 20+ miles at once in baggy shorts, it doesn't work.

Great weather, great turnout, and really nicely organized. Congrats to everyone involved.

maybe minus the signs pointing people which way to go on their routes...several people had to backtrack in a few different places because they didn't see the signs. Maybe they weren't paying attention, but it seems like a big coincidence for how many times it happened. I talked to one older woman who ran 15 miles instead of 13, and another guy who was supposed to run the 5K and ended up on the half course and finishing that instead of going back haha.

Maybe do like what they did in Kansas City-- give plenty of warning signs, i.e. "Course split ahead" with arrows and such. Color-coded bibs and signs might help too, but that's added expense.

Great event! First time I've run this one and thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope they re-route the course again next year because a loop is better than an out-and-back.
Funny, I've never noticed a problem with the men's shorts. Then again, some folks might not like the compression tights I wear, either.
A big thank-you to the volunteers and the LPD for helping us out.

As much as I prefer the scenery of a loop, an out-and-back is nice if you have lots of friends in the race as you get to see (and high-five) all of them somewhere along the route. Gotta say, though, that last loop was killer. Having the finish line in sight and realizing you still have three miles to go is no fun.

Never paid a lot of attention to the shorts, men or women, but wonder why the basketball players wear the long baggy shorts and the girls volleyball teams wear the tight short shorts?

Look at KU basketball pictures from ~1995 and earlier and then talk to me again about guys wearing short shorts.
