Should grocery stores in Kansas be allowed to sell liquor?
Asked at Dillons on Massachusetts Street on April 30, 2016
“I think so, because it's much more convenient than going to another facility, if you're going to buy it anyway — plus, pretty much everywhere else in the world, you can. At least wine and beer.”
— Cynthia Bousman, owner, Evening Shade Farms Body Products, Osceola, Mo.
“Yeah, I like the idea of the convenience.”
— Vincent DiMaggio, self-employed, Lawrence
“No — they have liquor stores for that. Too many people rob stores for that, and kids don't need to be around it.”
— Mary Courter, stay-at-home mom, Lawrence
“It's a complicated issue for me — on one hand, it'd be nice to get everything at once, but I feel as if liquor were sold in grocery stores, it could put local places like Mom and Pop's or Alvin's out of business, so I'm on the fence.”
— Clay Schneider, patient care technician, Lawrence
