I don't think I could pick one moment out of a whole year. Oh, well, I did find out about lentils from a bus driver who always took a thermos of lentil soup with him for his lunch and kept harping at me about them. You know passengers do talk to drivers and we get to know each other. Well, I decided to look up recipes for lentil soup and also did some research and found out some very interesting things about this so called simple bean. I also found out about grains of paradise which is a spice used in the soup.

They are from a pod that grows in the swamps in Africa and here is what is really going to bake your noodle. The lowland gorillas who eat these pods don't have any cardiovasular problems while those who live in zoos and don't have access to them do.

I hope the upcoming year offers you more excitement than discovering lentils! ;)
