My first grade teacher let me sit on her lap when she read to the class. My teeth hurt and she made me feel better. Nowdays, she would be fired. Wonder where Mrs. Randolph is now and would be in her late 80s.

Nothing wrong with making kids feel special. Overthemoon needs to get overhimself.

Wrong question. "What good lessons did your favorite teacher give to you." It ain't about 'feeling special'.
