“We have an 8-year-old, and we give him a $3 allowance every week, which he puts into three jars labeled ‘save,’ ‘spend,’ ‘give.’ Before the holidays, we talk to him about who he will donate the ‘give’ to.”

“During the holidays, I think about and am thankful for all I have in life. Thinking about that and those I love makes me want to give back.”

“I like to think about those I love and the experiences we share and what is meaningful to them, so I can give them something that brings them joy.”

“I like to start getting gifts early so I won’t stress out about it later. If I wait, it can make me resentful, and I lose that spirit.”

For me the spirit of giving is part of me,it is something I do everyday because I consider everyone to be a brother or sister as we are all children of the one Creator.

I just take one out of the left-wing liberal playbook. I give nothing. I condemn the government for not taxing the rich a lot more and I hoard my gains. I tell the bell ringers they wouldn't need to do that if those people would just get more free money from the government.

I just take one out of the conservative tea party playbook. I give nothing. I condemn the takers and hoard my gains. I tell the bell ringers they wouldn't need to do that if those people would just get jobs.
