I'll vote when there's a candidate worthy of my vote.

slitter (urban dictionary)

(Scottish) "1. noun - person unable to eat or pour liquids without spilling half the contents down their front "

. . . . close enough David. All my sweatshirts are spaghetti stained too.

LOL! Quit pickin' on poor Dave! It's good to see one of our own in the paper now and then.

Why was my comment deleted? All I did was provide a link to the poll asking the very same question as this OTS. What is wrong with you people?

Sometimes our system will label ljworld.com as spam, and automatically remove the comment. It's ironic, I know.

I will be voting against obamacare today. If we have to suffer 4 years of Mormonism to be rid of it, that's the price we pay. Socialism is a bigger enemy than Mormonism can possibly be.

1

DillonBarnes 6 months, 2 weeks ago

Exactly, you don't want Obamacare, you want Romneycare.

How are these guys different again?

0

I voted as soon as they opened...

All the idiocy of the extreme left and extreme right will be silenced for awhile. T_O_B How is that? Sounds good, just curious. I voted about 7:30AM. Wrote in Spacehog

Didn't vote for a president-they're both politicians-but did vote for the 'locals'. I wish Pat Paulson were still alive so I could vote Stag Party (younger people, reference to the Smothers Brothers.)

Liberty275 6 months, 2 weeks ago

Can you imagine how screwed we'd be if that whackjob had won? We should be thankful for the systemic antisemitism in the democrat party and algore's choice of Lieberman for VP.

Actually six... but who's counting.

Voted a couple of hours ago. My polling place was arranged with voters on the east side of Iowa checking in on the west side of the room with the west siders on the east. No problem there, just thought it was amusing. And the workers kept calling out "Blue' or 'Orange.' Haven't figured out those references yet. Was gonna ask, but folks were a bit preoccupied.

Looked like a pretty good turnout!

labmonkey 6 months, 2 weeks ago

Travis Black looks like that annoying liberal chick on MSNBC.

You think so? I was thinkin' more Rachel Maddow, that "whipsmart voice of reason in the business that is cable news." Esquire magazine

bearded_gnome 6 months, 2 weeks ago

certainly going to vote this afternoon, me and the mrs.

happy to vote for love of country.

romney wasn't my first or even fourth choice among the republican candidates, but he's worlds better than obama.

plea

please vote out obama, to get out obamacare, so that I can live a long life. yes, I am serious. obamacare truly threatens the lives of people who need quick access to specialists at times necessary to save our lives. I've needed quick access to specialists four times in my life so far. thank God they were there.

0

beatrice 6 months, 2 weeks ago

Obamacare does not do away with specialists, any more than Romneycare did.

And what of all those who will have access to health insurance who were denied it before, including those with pre-existing conditions previously denied insurance? Do their lives mean nothing?

Maybe that's why his side always loses. :Þ~

There are three kinds of people in this world. Those that can count and those that can't.

0

budwhysir 6 months, 2 weeks ago

what about those that are counting on learning to count, that would make only 2 wouldnt it?

There you go rc, getting an early jump on your excuses and false claims. Well done.

Yes, I plan to have already voted.

1

I wonder who nanny Karen was told to vote for?

1

beatrice 6 months, 2 weeks ago

I'm pretty sure that when someone approaches you to answer a question for "On the Street," you can just walk away without answering. Like gay marriage, it isn't mandatory. If someone gives an outrageous response knowing that it has the possibility of being published, it deserves to be discussed with no specific time limit.

I stand up against her views on feminism and the rights of women, but at least I didn't condescend by calling her "that poor lady."

0

beatrice 6 months, 2 weeks ago

What, no respect for my opinion of her opinion? Trying to bully me to stay quiet?

I respect her right to her opinion. The opinion itself, however, not so much. Just because someone has the freedom to say anything they choose is not reason to respect the actual comments. Had someone on the OTS been a white supremacist and spouted racist views, rather than sexist views, would you still "respect" that opinion?

You have a wonderful day as well.

0

beatrice 6 months, 2 weeks ago

Why? My cats aren't into politics.

0

beatrice 6 months, 2 weeks ago

Who is saying she doesn't have a right to express her opinion? All I am seeing is people trying to tell me I shouldn't speak my response.

0

bevy 6 months, 2 weeks ago

Voted, had to show my ID even though I've known the lady behind the table since I was born. Ya know what - didn't bother me a bit! I, like many posters above, will be glad when this is over. I don't feel too optimistic about a final result in less than a couple of weeks, though.

"My side will lose in KS. But, KS only has 7 votes so whatever....."

What an idiot. I bet there are more than 7 people in the state of Kansas.

0

budwhysir 6 months, 2 weeks ago

yeah but dont you have to have a valid DL to vote???

0

Eddie_Haskell 6 months, 2 weeks ago

"My side".

Definitely part of the problem. Also, there is no such thing as Obamacare and there is no Tea Party.

2

rockchalker52 6 months, 2 weeks ago

If I were to give a 'thumbs up' to the same regular poster on every one of his/her comments, would that be voting or stalking?

3

Electoral College= Your vote doesn't matter.

Voting the Party line= Political Bigotry

Is the GOP stealing Ohio? Uncertified, "experimental" software patches have been installed on machines in 39 counties of the key swing state

Machine turns vote for Obama into one for Romney

A Pennsylvania electronic voting machine was taken out of service after being captured on video changing a vote for President Obama into one for Mitt Romney, NBC News has confirmed. Republicans have also said machines have turned Romney votes into Obama ones.

That's a crappy deal, having to leave if your candidate loses. How about this instead: if your candidate wins, Agno has to like all your posts for a month, or vice versa. We don't need to be rid of either of you.

Why was his post deleted?

0

Eddie_Haskell 6 months, 2 weeks ago

The New Black Panthers. That's a good one. Kind of like those cartoony Latino and Asian gangs that started popping up on the West Coast in the 90's. MSG-13! Ooooh, scary!

0

Agnostick 6 months, 2 weeks ago

My post was deleted because I've posted about rockchalk's plagiarism... two, maybe three times? Last year, barrypenders/berrypenders/FalseHopeNoChange was kicked off once for regularly stealing material from a web site known as Stratfor.com , a kind of 7-Eleven for foreign affairs.

Sorry, but stuff like that stands out like a sore thumb. We all have our own "voice" to our writing, and when you drop in someone else's writing under your name, it stands out. Badly.

I call 'em like I see 'em.

snap_pop_no_crackle 6 months, 2 weeks ago

Your stalking is getting more sophisticated, ag.

1

Agnostick 6 months, 2 weeks ago

Well, I have you and gl0ck0wn3r to thank, snappy. That multi-year stalk you did on merrill (including gl0ck's re-registration and attempted outing of merrill's real identity)... that's PhD level stuff. I may read books on stalking, but you and gl0ck write them.

How's the popsicle stand?

rockchalk1977 whines:

"I know the First Amendment..."

No, actually, you don't know the First Amendment. You haven't the faintest clue about it. The First Amendment does not give you the right to steal the work of other people.

Here, try reading it:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Meanwhile, in other news...

Nov. 6 — FLORIDA — Voting machine problems; 12,310 ‘wrong-day’ robocalls.

At least two Hillsborough County polls reported vote-machine problems, The "Tampa Tribune" reported. Also, officials acknowledged the higher number of Pinellas County voters who got a robo-call Tuesday by election officials mistakenly telling them the vote was Wednesday. Another 28,300 calls with the correct date were made Monday. The mistake came from a vendor, said the county elections supervisor. Vote-scanning problems also occurred in the South Florida communities of Miami Springs, Pembroke Pines and Plantation, the "Miami Herald" reported.
