Tomorrow is Leap Day and the thought occurred to me, I wonder if any people get married on Feb. 29 and thus only have to remember their anniversary every four years.

Hey, take me out to Don's, for a Tbone or Bum Steer on Iowa for ribs, well maybe Cornucopia, for salad bar and crab crepes, Sunday Morning Times for yogurt pancakes, Ducks fried shrimp, Tin Pan Alley kangaroo taco, Paradise for huevos rancheros, and then we could grab an ice cream sunday at the Eldrige ice cream soda shop. Just don't take me to Carol's patio.

Dude, I'll bet you anything you went to Red Lion Dance Palace. I was a bouncer there. What a joke, I weighed about a buck-40 at the time. It was owned by some shady Mafia guy named Sal. I worked with this cool Texas badass named Willy Giovanetti. They used to make us clock out at 4am then stay for an hour and clean up. I walked out after 2 weeks.

G, just listen to "Hawaii '78" over and over again and ignore the other stuff. Originally recorded when Iz was with Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau, it's the most beautiful, heartbreaking Hawaii song ever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cAbHG...

I used to eat at Russell's East sometimes when I was a kid. Even then I was pretty sure most of the people working there were coked to the gills. Same with the Carriage Lamp.

I think that the boy bought the Iz CD. I couldn't drag him down Waikiki beach to Dukes so I made him go in Kauai. He was happy after a few cocktails. Food was excellent. I paid. Then I parked him in the grass under a tree and I went to go play in the ocean.

In popular music, when a man refers to his significant other as Momma, chances are you're listening to buttrock.

Ah yes, Duke's, HI, named after the late surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku. If you think that's hard, try pronouncing Israel Kamakawio'ole, aka Braddah Iz. He's dead, too. They had just opened a Duke's on Oahu when I was moving back here but I was too broke to eat there.

The Village Pub at the Bell Tower Mall. Big juicy cheeseburgers with bacon and mushrooms, and a huge mound of spiced potato wedges.

Olive Garden? Red Lobster? Applebee's? Pepperjax? This explains a lot about some of you.

My answer, it used to be Anglers when Jeff was there. Once he left the place started sucking hard. And now its some kind of Oh Boy Oriental Anglers. What the!!!!!????? Now it's Old Johnny's for pizza and Yoko for sushi.

Used to be Mojo's in Lawrence... now you have some hippie eatery there. Outside of Lawrence... Montana Mike's (I know there is one in Lawrence, but it isn't that good). I am excited they are opening a Pizza Ranch in KC...

Wasn't last Tues. Shrove Tuesday.? But, pancakes do sound really good. My tought about my favorite place to eat is, anywhere I don't have to cook.....

0

LadyJ 2 years, 1 month ago

Today is national pancake day "Shrove Tuesday (also known as Pancake Tuesday, Pancake Day, Mardi Gras, and Fat Tuesday) is the day preceding Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent" IHOP capitalizes on it by giving away a free shortstack in hopes of getting you in there to spend more money, but I'll make mine at home. It is also World Spay Day which leaves an opening for some entertaining comments, but I won't go there.

El mezcal outside for dinner at sunset with at least 8 friends.

These days, Dillons. I just can't bear a helpful smile in every aisle.

Anywhere away from the house. Olive garden and Joe's Crab Shack are 2 of my favorites. With 8 in the house we don't get to go very often so I'm waiting for Mother's Day to roll around again.

0

Benjamin Roberts 2 years, 1 month ago

PepperJax is good. But, since I don't manage a Subway, I'll go with El Mezcal - just like the last time this question was asked.

Of course, if out of Lawrence then Golden Corral or Red Lobster.

0

We just love it down at Autie's South. I like the ribs and Momma just loves the pork loin. They have great drink prices too and Saturday specials.
