Reading, which was my favorite. But, a lot of my vacation time was spent on the tractor doing various farm operations, or worse, stacking hay or alfalfa bales. Feeding the cattle, that was OK.

Oh, the bane of being a farm kid,,, Actually, the memories aren't bad, that's because I forgot all the bad parts.

Learn to make cookies and build snow forts!

Hmmm, snow. Maybe something other than snow forts in KS, like duck blinds.

You have to look for them? They seem to be everywhere in this part of town.

You missed your calling. You should be working in the field of naming candy for children. 'Gummi Zombie Scat' would be a best seller, for sure!

Oh, and find out what happened to my blog, Name That Baby, I hate to think of all the children that will be given the default of, "Yo, kid!"

Don't forget Lot offering his daughters to "hoards" of men, then taking them up into the mountains and having children with them himself.

One thing my kids never dared to say was "I'm bored" They knew I would put them to work immediately.

Learning how to handle a firearm if they don't know, if they do, lots of time using lots of ammo on paper targets, so relaxing to shoot, put on the eye and ear protectors though.
