i assume most folks that attend are the same ones that go to dirt track and nascar races, looking for blood and guts or wrecks, maybe if they get luckly a decapitation or worse other folks like art in the park

Used to be that you found an old car, took all the glass out of it, welded the doors shut, put a fire extinguisher in it and there was your derby car. Thirty years ago, old cars were much better suited for demo derby cars. Anyway, then the safety nazis came around and took all the fun out of it.

I really like all the water they put on the arena floor so the cars can't get enough speed up to get good hits on each other. All the boredom makes it easier to nap and who doesn't like a good nap?
The farm part of the fair is great. The dumb carnival, the derby and the 8 places to grab a funnelcake aren't worth putting on my shoes to go. I'll find better things to do with my money, like the RenFest.
