I wear shoes until I can stick a finger through the hole in the bottom of the shoe.

Been a while, BABBOY. You Rock!! Where you been, man? Sentence structure is getting better. You just had one flaw on this one - instead of "to they" should be "until they." Great progress! Good Job! Keep up the good work!!

Wait, My_Life. You may have a point, although dull and flaccid. If some dude could walk on water why would he need shoes?? Consult, consume, your Rock and ponder....

"My_Life (anonymous) replies…

Sheets of muscovite strapped to his feet with cat gut. There's a whole other story about that and Indyan Lovestone. It exposes the secret of walking on water. But alas, Indyan is not in the mood for ridicule today. He threatened another rampage starting with the garbage disposer and windows again, then moving on to light bulbs and the TV. He's hard headed that way. Gez, I had to resort to distractions to calm him down since we're out of beer. His favorite game, rock/paper/scissors always works. Hey Aut, Jesus loves you and will pray for you tonight. Feel the love."

Sounds like you got another good "Bump" from your Pet Rock(s). Guess the border is wide open these days...

Really? How do you know? Let me guess...you were there at a "Re-enactment." ... Back then, they were called flip-fops - the Romans wore the same....D*rk..

"who did they name Jesus Sandals after?"

The guys making them in Mexico. I'm partial to the ones with old tires for the soles.

0

Wait....if Jesus didn't have shoes, who did they name Jesus Sandals after?

0

The_Original_Bob 2 years, 6 months ago

"If that's the case, he'll just be coming back with a new user name without asking.

My suggestions: Zimmerman or Duluth." Andini

Oh, one never knows what is going on in ol' Hollis' head. He might just surprise you.

I buy so many different pairs of shoes for other people's growing feet that when I buy myself shoes they have to last me at least 2-3 years. I have been thinking about buying myself some new work shoes but with the holidays coming up I think I'll just wait. Ugh, I hate being a responsible adult!!

0

g_rock 2 years, 6 months ago

I worked in shoe stores for years back in the day. So I'm kind of a shoe girl. I rarely wear them out...I just move on to new favorites. Though I used to wear out running shoes when I used to run lots. But I was too broke to be buying new running shoes all the time. Lots of odd injuries resulted.

Jesus did not have shoes.

He didn't have health care or underwear either. The guy was a bum.

H_Lecter, I think I can safely speak for...uh, well, only myself when I say no to a Hollis reincarnation. I want a current carnation - preferably a red one in his lapel while he regales with tales of how that came to pass. Does Ms. Crump use Wednesday afternoon for admin stuff like the rest of 'em? Mebbe we could talk outa school then & figure a plan.

Were there only three people with shoes on downtown that qualified to answer the question?

“These boots are made for walking, and that’s just what they’ll do one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.”

I'm skivvyless & ready to roll. Not really all that comfy - to quote Cosmo Kramer, 'My boys need a house.'

Woke up cold one Tuesday, I'm looking tired and feeling quite sick. I felt like there was something missing in my day-to-day life, So, I quickly opened the wardrobe, Pulled out some jeans and a t-shirt that seemed clean. Topped it off with a pair of old shoes, That were ripped around the seams. And, I thought, These shoes just don't suit me.

Hey, I put some new shoes on, And suddenly everything is right. I said, Hey, I put some new shoes on, and everybody's smiling, It's so inviting. Oh, short on money, But, long on time, Slowly strolling in the sweet sunshine, And I'm running late, And I don't need an excuse, 'Cause I'm wearing my brand new shoes.

Woke up late one Thursday, And, I'm seeing stars as I'm rubbing my eyes. And, I felt like there were two days missing, As I focused on the time. And I made my way to the kitchen, But, I had to stop from the shock of what I found, A room full of all of my friends all dancing 'round and 'round, And, I thought, Hello, New Shoes, Bye-bye blues.

Take me wanderin' through these streets, Where bright lights and angels meet. Stone to stone they take me on, I'm walking 'til the break of dawn.

My hunting boots are somewhere between 35-40 years old, but after each season they get a good cleaning and water proof oil before going back in the storage cabinet, every day shoes maybe six months to one year

CHKNLTL 2 years, 6 months ago

My Payless shoes used to last around 6 months until the soles literally blew out the bottom. The last pair I bought at the beginning of July literally are worn out through the bottom at my big toes. 3 months? that's $5 a month for this pair of clearance shoes....practically garbage, but they weren't anything fancy, so whatever. A pair I paid $2.50 for lasted about 4 months before they got too stinky to wear....what a steal.

Maybe he could use Ariadne/cool/bronze/ and many more that I don't think are currently in use. Mr_Nancy_Boy maybe? Just don't use anything remotely related to certain canines or their vocalizations or trade routes or birds that rise from ashes or He Who Must Not Be Named.

They won't let me have shoe laces on suicide watch

0

Andini 2 years, 6 months ago

It depends on how often I wear them.

But when they're worn out, I just tie the laces together and throw them over a wire somewhere around town.

The subtle art of conversation is simply lost on some people. John Brown probably made his own boots.

I will wager that John Brown never even bought a pair of shoes in Kansas. Notable Kansan my ass.

Would always buy NB for hubby at their store whenever he started hurting again at $120 a pop. Same model every time so if we wanted, all we had to do was call and they would ship them. This last time they didn't seem to help much so after two weeks I ordered a pair of Propet, recommended by a friend, which comes in wider sizes than NB. He really likes them and says they are more comfortable and a lot cheaper too.

Dress shoes = new white New Balance first 30 days, work and a$$ kickers next 60 days, garden for next year then tossed to the burn barrel after that. Neighbors always know when I have new dress shoes by the smell of the fire.

WWHW? What would Hollis wear?

For myself, it's the same as what number3 sez about the dress shoes. Currently looking at the running shoes thinking I should've worn them out a long time ago. There was a time when I would've yawned at the efforts of Jesse's wife. Now, for me to run that many miles in a week would be a minor miracle.

new dress shoes last anywhere from 10 to 25 years because I don't wear them very often. Work shoes I don't buy new. At present I have 2 used pair of crocs and they will last me about 3 years. Of course, when I am down and have to use the wheel chair, shoes don't get much wear at all.

0

autie 2 years, 6 months ago

Mine generally last until they wear out. Now that piece is kind of hard to nail down. I have some Sorrels over thirty years old. I guess the common thread is work out shoes....my fat ass breaks those down pretty quick...a couple of months maybe.

0

Adrienne Sanders 2 years, 6 months ago

Depends how often I wear them.... but at least a year.

I have no idea, but 1 lb of coffee beans lasts me exactly 14 days.

I've got a pair of Dehner boots that I bought in 1977 that I still wear once in a while. They've been resoled at least three times.

0

Scott Morgan 2 years, 6 months ago

Doesn't matter New Balance, NIKE, el cheapos generally 4-5 weeks then rotate to work shoes.

On the other hand used to wear really well built leather shoes for work. Had them re-soled and would get a good year out of those.

Roland Gunslinger 2 years, 6 months ago

My PT shoes, Asics, last a good 4-6 months.

My wife goes through running shoes every 4-6 weeks. Of course she's running 12-16 miles a week. (yeah she's crazy)

0

RoeDapple 2 years, 6 months ago

New Balance for me too. Only brand that doesn't hurt my legs/back right outa the box. three to five months. Work boots . . . been a while but 10 to 12 months. Hunting boots? Have several pair ranging from 10 to 30 years old, still in great condition. Always have cleaned and returned to box after each season.

0

Benjamin Roberts 2 years, 6 months ago

New shoes? Until I walk out of the store - then, they become old shoes, or used shoes, no longer new shoes. With that said, New Balance (or old New Balance) last from 5 to 12 months.

" Six weeks if they are" Nike" three months if adidas; adidas are great running shoes far better than Nike; Nikes are uneven when running.
