Left over Mexican, Chinese, or pizza, nuked, is an easy start to the day.

If I'm cooking, though, I like an omelette made with sauteed onions, crispy crumbled bacon, sour cream, and sharp cheese. Once the cheese melts, arrange fresh avocado slices and (home-grown if possible) diced ripe tomato over the top, splash on some salsa, salt liberally, and serve with fried potatoes (also homemade, of course). May need to add extra green Tabasco and Cholula sauce to omelette, fried taters, or both. Hot tea or coffee on the side.

Wheat toast dipped into over easy eggs, crispy bacon, hash browns and pineapple-orange juice. Can't beat it.

p.s. Sunspots? poor excuse, kctv.

Cait -I must make it to Aimee's. Never been there. I like the grits at Waffle House. Sorry for the loss of you father-in-law. I have a great one.

Honeys buns are delicious in the morning and really starts my day off right

Breakfast is my favorite meal to go out for and my favorite place to get it is Aimee's. They have the thickest and best waffle in town, hands down, and their biscuits and gravy are to die for. No package stuff in their gravy. I stood there and watched the cook make the gravy because they had run out. I chose to wait for it. They seriously put Milton's to shame. At home I love to make cheese omelets with diced tomato. The tomato has to be inside the omelet so it gets hot and soft, not on top. I really like the grits at Cracker Barrel. Neither my husband nor his mother will eat grits and my father in law and I would "play fight" over who got their's when we would go out for breakfast. (I always got my husband's and he always got his wife's.) He passed away this past year and it really makes me miss him.

Pop tarts, a banana and orange juice.

Granted, there have been regrettable mornings on which I choked down a crow omelet, ... humble pie with whipped topping, on the side.

Homer Simpson's Patented Space age out of this world moon waffles! Waffle batter plus bag of caramels plus liquid smoke wrapped around a stick of butter. (mmmmmmmm fattening)

I don't eat breakfast. I usually fire up a fattie and throw on some Steve Miller.

This here's a story about Billy Joe and Bobbie Sue Two young lovers with nothin' better to do Than sit around the house, get high, and watch the tube And here is what happened when they decided to cut loose They headed down to, ooh, old El Paso That's where they ran into a great big hassle Billy Joe shot a man while robbing his castle Bobbie Sue took the money and run

A beer.... yep, beer has food value, but food has no beer value...

As I multitask here, my observation of the Mizery B-ball team, more time practicing, less time at the barber. 'Shazam' lines in your hair don't help.

"white gravy"

If it has cornstarch, it ain't gravy.

0

HollisBrown 3 years, 1 month ago

I've already shared this, but the other day I had a huge plate of B&G with 4 sausages, 2 eggs over easy and hash browns for brunch. I stood up and pure cholesterol started dripping out of my ears. Must have been that white gravy.

Left-over pizza and beer. Anything with bacon. I seldom eat it, but I like breakfast food

Bloody Mary with a pickled asparagus spear as a garnish. It is a hearty meal in a glass.

You know what I miss? Taos Eggs at Paradise Cafe. Not so much their Bloody Mary's though.

"Another favorite when I'm on the go is cold fried chicken. Out the door and in the truck with a hand full of cold drumsticks"

Back in my traveling days, cold fried chicken was a staple. Get a dozen from Popeyes and throw them in the cooler.

I awoke late to find half of my pillow missing. Never go grocery shopping on an empty stomach, and never go to bed thinking of breakfast.

Coors, Breakfast of Champions!!!

Just joking. I hate Coors. There are much better options available these days.

0

Those little thin pancakes rolled up with Ham and swiss cheese inside. Or eggs Benedict. Yum! And about a gallon of coffee.

0

RoeDapple 3 years, 1 month ago

Actually breakfast is my favorite meal. Just about anything is great (pancakes? even the thin ones. Biscuits and gravy? You bet!), but I usually start my day with scrambled eggs with cheese and a little Tabasco or sriracha chili sauce, whole wheat toast, sliced peaches or a banana, milk or vegetable juice (I coulda had a V-8!). . . (Then I chew up a golf ball and spit rubber bands at the cat)

0

RoeDapple 3 years, 1 month ago

Well I'm not fifth, but about a fifth of anything could start the day for me!

Biscuits and gravy with hash browns and grits.

0

cream of possum pot pie with a side of puke. But really, biscuits and gravy is what kills me. And if I don't feel like I've clogged my arteries I'll have a side of lard. Seriously though, bacon and eggs and omelets and french toast and all that junk.

Well, the staple is a banana with coffee. But the favorite is biscuits and gravy, with sausage. ... eggs, bacon. ... orange juice. ... buttered toast. ... with raspberry jelly.
