Biscuits and gravy...and the ones at Aimee's are DA BOMB!!!

Aimee's is a great all around place! On the B&G front, the Mirth Cafe has the best gravy I've ever had. I don't go there though, because the service is as bad as the gravy is good.

I think the gravy at Milton's is the best. That said, any place with good gravy can have an off day, given how it can vary from day to day and even from the start of the batch to the end of the batch!

cream of possum pot pie with a side of puke. But really, biscuits and gravy is what kills me. And if I don't feel like I've clogged my arteries I'll have a side of lard. Seriously though, bacon and eggs and omelets and french toast and all that junk.

Well I'm not fifth, but about a fifth of anything could start the day for me!

Actually breakfast is my favorite meal. Just about anything is great (pancakes? even the thin ones. Biscuits and gravy? You bet!), but I usually start my day with scrambled eggs with cheese and a little Tabasco or sriracha chili sauce, whole wheat toast, sliced peaches or a banana, milk or vegetable juice (I coulda had a V-8!). . . (Then I chew up a golf ball and spit rubber bands at the cat)

Those little thin pancakes rolled up with Ham and swiss cheese inside. Or eggs Benedict. Yum! And about a gallon of coffee.

Another favorite when I'm on the go is cold fried chicken. Out the door and in the truck with a hand full of cold drumsticks!

Homer Simpson's Patented Space age out of this world moon waffles! Waffle batter plus bag of caramels plus liquid smoke wrapped around a stick of butter. (mmmmmmmm fattening)

Breakfast is my favorite meal to go out for and my favorite place to get it is Aimee's. They have the thickest and best waffle in town, hands down, and their biscuits and gravy are to die for. No package stuff in their gravy. I stood there and watched the cook make the gravy because they had run out. I chose to wait for it. They seriously put Milton's to shame. At home I love to make cheese omelets with diced tomato. The tomato has to be inside the omelet so it gets hot and soft, not on top. I really like the grits at Cracker Barrel. Neither my husband nor his mother will eat grits and my father in law and I would "play fight" over who got their's when we would go out for breakfast. (I always got my husband's and he always got his wife's.) He passed away this past year and it really makes me miss him.

Left over Mexican, Chinese, or pizza, nuked, is an easy start to the day.

If I'm cooking, though, I like an omelette made with sauteed onions, crispy crumbled bacon, sour cream, and sharp cheese. Once the cheese melts, arrange fresh avocado slices and (home-grown if possible) diced ripe tomato over the top, splash on some salsa, salt liberally, and serve with fried potatoes (also homemade, of course). May need to add extra green Tabasco and Cholula sauce to omelette, fried taters, or both. Hot tea or coffee on the side.
