First. Once in many moons I travel the plains to Osceola Cheese to stock up on cheese and peach Nehi. Goes well with friends and family.

We love Osceola Cheese!! We stop by every time on our way to or from Branson/Ozarks area. They have a website if you want your cheese fix delivered to you!

I'd always go there after a 10 day stay at the H.Roe Bartle scout camp lulz Oh how time has passed. Thanks for the web link!

Live music. While I enjoy some of the music in Lawrence, I have friends who play in KC that I enjoy, too.

There's no place in Lawrence that stocks tracer rounds. Got to go elsewhere.

Costco and Sam's Club

For quality dimension lumber and finish trim at good prices

For anything shippable that I can get for a much better price or selection on-line such as books, tires, automotive and appliance parts and accessories, most computer other electronic gear, and software, DVDs, etc.

I am still looking for a vendor of parts, local or otherwise, to repair my star drive so that I can get off this dirty, stinking, infested cold rock. It's too bad FedEx doesn't yet deliver across galaxies.

Not really, a little more like a time lord. :-)

If I don't buy it at Wal-Mart, Dillons, Kohl's,or Best Buy then I buy it off the internet.

Men's clothes....if Weaver's doesn't have it.

whatadrag 5 years, 1 month ago

In my experience, Weavers has clothes that were popular at least a year ago, and for a higher price than online

"trim" at good prices..... ;_P....;_P...beats the "trim"...in larryville....mmmm!

Odd that they asked a guy from Overland Park about leaving Lawrence to shop.

nut_case 5 years, 1 month ago

At nearly 10% tax - especially if you stumble into a 'special' tax district - who can afford to shop here? I have to go where I can get the best price - which is generally NOT Lawrence.

whatadrag 5 years, 1 month ago

I know I can't afford those extra 2 dollars or so on a $100 purchase

cds 5 years, 1 month ago

Yes, it's far, far better to spend 15 bucks on gas... not to mention tire wear, oil changes, and overall wear and tear on your vehicle... to travel to KC or Topeka, than spend 1-2 dollars extra per $100 for something in Lawrence.

But there is pigeon, and once in a while a deer wanders downtown.

labmonkey 5 years, 1 month ago

Perhaps Betsy needs to shop outside Lawrence for a real job.

BBQ for sure! Oklahoma Joes, Famous Daves, etc etc.

Deja Coffin 5 years, 1 month ago

I was going to give you a recipe to make bath salts but then I realized what you were talking about. Love it!!

Early season prarie squid is less likely to be gamey.

labmonkey 5 years, 1 month ago

Since I don't live in Lawrence, there are only two things I come to Lawrence to buy... Kroger brand hot taco sauce, and Kroger brand creamy lite caeser dressing. Lawrence has the closest Dillons now that Price Chopper bought out all the Dillons in KC.

Pneumatic tubes are like totally tubular.

I wonder if the deleted post was the obvious answer I expected to see. Being a lady, of course I would not post it myself.

Sporting goods. And I don't mean T-shirts with your favorite college on the front. Fishing, hunting, camping and hiking supplies are tough to find in Lawrence. Oh you can find some camping and hiking stuff at Sunflower if you're looking for high end stuff. Not all of us can afford that but would like a little better quality than Wal-mart.
