A son's meander through Wikipedia produced another find tonight, Brief Interviews with Hideous Men.

We (wife and me) just watched "Let Me In". It's a little scary, not bad, but a good story. Different. I can't ID a "best movie" for quite awhile now.

What an absolutely beautiful night. Just followed my kid back across town to make sure he made it home. Caught the second of two Russian films whose content ranged from domestic-mundane to sequences to so dense (rich, layered) that they left us wondering that anyone had scripted and assembled them. Night- and Day Watch. Complemented Kansas' legislatively diminishing artistic landscape like tonight's dense, foggy snow complements this brown, winter plain.

JeeeZUS...would it have been better if I said d-bag instead of douche bag? Suck on my nut-sack Lawrence Urinal World.

Inception is good, but I am a Christopher Nolan fan. I also thought True Grit was pretty good but I'm not too sure why it was redone in the first place. The original wasn't too bad. Why do they always remake good movies? Seems like a better to take a bad movie and remake it into a good movie.

I like "The Little Boy that Cried Wolf"

Love the part where the wolf eats him in the end.

The fact that 1. Gunder is a self admitted Kutcher fan and 2. Is giving a thumbs up in his photo definitely shoots him to the top of the douche bag list.

Do you believe in miracles?! Yes, today is tha anniversary of the miracle on ice. That would have been a better question, where were you in 1980 when this occured. Instead of the same movie question.

Citizen Kane is over-rated. Zombieland was good. Waiting on the next Bond Movie

Watched on the comedy channel "Who's your caddy?"

To actually address the original question, the True Grit remake is a hell of a good movie.

"http://www2.ljworld.com/polls/2011/ja..." Snap

That is comedy at a level that is damn near unprecedented. The LJW only has itself to blame for letting a certain person that can't be named, described, or hinted about lurk on this site for years even though he broke every damn rule they had. Now JK and Whitney have to deal with him. I feel sorry for them and wish them the best of luck.

I too have been flummoxed as of late.

0

Flap Doodle 3 years, 1 month ago

As I said before, there's a whole other story going on.

The_Original_Bob 3 years, 1 month ago

"You can't use blanks either, TOB."

I noticed that. The LJW's standards seem in flux from day to day lately. I wonder if this has anything to do with a certain member of Sven's campaign having an acknowledged closeness with certain LJW staff in the past.

The True Grit remake is very good, and quite fun.

Until recently I'd never seen Taxi Driver with Robert De Niro. AMC has been showing it in honor of it's 35th anniversary so I watched it the other night and loved it. Great acting, wonderful direction by Scorsese. I liked the part when De Niro used that quick draw gadget and blew that thug away. And it was weird seeing Jodie Foster as a thirteen year old.

autie 3 years, 1 month ago

12 Angry Men with Henry Fonda. It should be a must watch.

0

Bill Lee 3 years, 1 month ago

I rewatched "Gone With the Wind" the other night.
