I am listening to the audio book presentation of 1906 A Novel by James Dalessandro and read by Stephanie Brush.

There is a side story about a young girl from Lawrence, Kansas, who sneaks away from home and travels by train to San Francisco and her father, the Douglas County Sheriff, who then travels there looking for her.
