Nowhere is wherever you want it to be.

  2. autie (anonymous) says…

I went on a boat ride to nowhere. Had a lot of fun with that.

    Nope

I have a fear of trains. Ever since my grandparents took me to LA on Amtrak as a yute. Being stuck in a lounge car for 4 days, not sleeping, spending the entire time playing solitaire, our engine breaking down and being replaced with a freight engine....you can imagine my issues.

  5. AreUNorml (anonymous) says…

I went to New Jersey once from DC..definitely a trip to nowhere.

    1. staff04 (anonymous) replies

Too funny! My first thought was a train ride to Baltimore!

  6. AreUNorml (anonymous) says…

did they seriously already go out and ask these questions and get them published? only been like 2 hours of daylight so far.

    "Train trip to nowhere?"

    Story of my life.

  8. prospector (anonymous) says…

I'm waiting for the train at the inter-urban station at 636 Mass. With nowhere to go, I think I will have a beer while there. One might come along soon, sooner if Merrill gets his way. I bet I have time for another beer.

  9. prospector (anonymous) says…

Best trip to nowhere by train, the Durango to Silverton RR.

  10. RETICENT_IRREVERENT (Ronaldo Ignacio) says…

One time in college, my friend and I took a 7 hour road trip to Raytown.

    1. justchuck (anonymous) replies

      that's horrible. lol

  11. cait48 (anonymous) says…

LJW please give people a clue that it's the train trip to Nowhere, not nowhere. There's a big difference. Nowhere, KS is an actual place and deserves to have it's name capitalized.

I really liked the Talking Heads version. Does that count?

    1. somedude20 (anonymous) replies

that was not a train, rather it was a road to nowhere (which I hear is in Alaska) so no it does not

      1. puddleglum (anonymous) replies

        dont forget the bridge

  13. autie (anonymous) says…

My Daddy says he rode the inter urban back in the 30's. Cost a nickel to go to Parsons....which they did on Saturdays for something to do. When he was like eleven or twelve years old....And going to Parsons is pretty much like going to nowhere.

"?One time in college, my friend and I took a 7 hour road trip to Raytown." RI

    Was LSD invovled?

    1. kernal (anonymous) replies

I was wondering if they did the loop d'loop on 435 multiple times in which case LSD may have been involved.

  15. prospector (anonymous) says…

I'm going to open a bar in Nowhere. It will be packed because the patrons can stumble home and have an honest answer when asked,"Where the hell have you been?"

I think it is about time to cook a whole brisket. Put on some Allman Brothers. Stir up another gin and tonic. What else can a guy do when it is 135 degrees outside?

  18. Kontum1972 (anonymous) says…

I thought about a brisket for tomorrow. The wife wants pork butt. Decisions.

    1. CWGOKU (anonymous) replies

If in doubt, always go with brisket. Thanks for the thought and the hunger.

  20. charliejohnson (anonymous) says…

When I was in high school, a friend and I would ride from our town to another to go swimming, then we would ride back home after we were done.
Gin and tonic at 8:30 in the AM? autie?

  33. Dejacrew423 (anonymous) says…

My friend married a guy called Trainwreck (TW) the guy loves trains so much he got the grill of a train tattooed on his chin (hard to explain but pretty cool and unique). He'll take train rides to nowhere all the time. I always admired his free spirit of hopping on a train and going where to rails take ya. It's like my hobo version of Eat Pray Love.

  34. wolflover1969 (anonymous) says…

I took my daughter on the Easter trip to Nowhere, KS this year, when we arrived in Nowhere, there was an egg hunt & an Easter bunny. Was alot of fun.

  35. riverdrifter (anonymous) says…

No Where is Norwood. They *should* call it Nowhere. I'm always glad when the train shuts down for the winter and the deer adjust accordingly.
One of my best deer stands is right near the tracks -the tracks with no December trains.
Hey, that sounds like a Bob Dylan song...

  36. thebcman (anonymous) says…

Nobody likes train rides. Nobody ...

    1. riverdrifter (anonymous) replies

Except when the comical mini-accident happened in June -with 300 passengers aboard.
