KU’s going to have a losing record. It’s a new year, a new transition, I just don’t think they have the pieces for it.”

"Winning season, but no bowl game." Wrong, anymore.

Winning season = bowl game, even if it is the Poulan Weedeater Bowl in some semi-frozen stadium in late December.

They will be humiliated by K-State, and of course by Missouri, like always.

Also, Autie, I'm thinking about changing my avatar. Any suggestions?

"September, 2011 will be the beginning of season 2. He would have to be fired based upon one season's results. Obviously you don't know the calendar."

Holy sex. Yes, it would be. East Coast Lew would still be here on the cusp of the season starting and obviously they wouldn't fire a coach before his first game. Good Jehova. I feel like I'm talking to four year olds.

"what is that avatar now, some hippie smokin pot?"

Patterson Hood of the Drive By Truckers. I am not aware of what he is smoking. That has been my avatar for months, Autie.

Patterson Hood. Drive

New coach and coming of a bad year- people will have to give them a lot of breaks this year. It is about as rebuilding as it gets. It will take (has taken) some time for Kansas football to have "reloading years" instead of "rebuilding years". I have all the confidence in the new coaching staff and am betting on them in coming years. Next year, well, it might be a long one.

Mangino had the luxury of alternating the south teams. Turner Gill will have a much tougher schedule when we go south every year. Take Nebraska out and add the south. Hmmm. The big blue is gonna have to get a lot better than it has been.

Anyone want to share a taxi from near Dulles to the Lincoln Memorial tomorrow morning?

"Idiotic statement! So you think he will be fired after one season? Even if we went winless he wouldn't be fired after one season. " Angry Internet Person

Obviously, you do not know much about the situation. Lew is here until September of 2011. That is two seasons, Angry Internet Person. And, yes, I fully believe Gill will be relieved of his duties after the 2011 season. New AD will want to buy his own toys. Happens all the time.

I don't have a clue about the season record, I'll just sit back and watch it unfold. Might be like a tire fire, just grab a beer, sit back and let it burn. I do know that KU will graduate more kids than K-State will and have fewer arrests than MU.

When's the next rumble with the basketball guys set for?

My cute pet peeve is cars with missing hub caps. I mean c'mon. It's a cheap fix. And cars that have been in multiple wrecks with no repairs. Oh yeah, buddy. Save me a spot next to you at Walmart. The condition of a car says a lot about a person.

I used to ride a moped in Hawaii. Lots of people do. I even had a basket on the back. But I mainly used it to tote my porn home from the video store. I could fill the rest of this page with Lawrence driving stories, but here's just a couple. Avoid 27th St. between Iowa and Louisiana. Apparently they named the street for the max speed. It's always been that way. A couple of days ago I was driving north on Kasold. When I came to the 3 way stop at 8th St. the lady next to me just blew right through it at about 40 mph. Didn't even slow down. Not talking on her cell phone. DG Cnty plate. Wow.....

I just hope there will be a lot of nice, clean, dirty fights. Ret, welcome to the World of Lawrence Driving. Damn filthy hippies on bikes. It's funny how bicyclists always complain about the lack of respect they get from drivers, but I have yet to see a bicyclist obeying traffic rules. For some reason they don't think stop signs apply to them, they don't use a light at night. Then you have the wads who think they have to wear Tour De France apparel just to bike to the store. Run 'em off the road.

6 wins will get a bowl game

They could win as few 3 or 4 games, they could win as many as 7.

I am guessing that the KU - KSU game could decide which team gets a bowl game.

riverdrifter 3 years, 7 months ago

It depends in no small part on just how good Kale Pick is. If the offense is good enough to keep their defense from having to play too many minutes & getting ground down in the second half, they could get 7 wins and a bowl bid.

They are already winners in my heart....and hopefully in the point spread.

g_rock 3 years, 7 months ago

And I think that they will come out on top in the annual brawl with the basketball team too.

At least KU football wears helmets, damn bicyclists with out a brain pan, see who wins if I start playing by your rules.

KU will be the worst team in the Big 12 ... it won't even be close.

I guess it depends on how many skanky/scandalous female(s) are going to mess with the player's heads this year. :shrugs:

WILL BE LUCKY TO WIN 4 GAMES.

THAT NICE SWEET STUFF DOES NOT WIN AT THE D 1 LEVEL.

Win some, lose some as always.

Gonna be a long year, I predict. I just hope we can win a game or two in September. There doesn't appear to be enough depth on the team to survive the rigors of the Big XII season.

I think Nebraska will win the Big 12 this year, oh Kansas. Yeah there going to stink!!

Yesterday afternoon as I traversed in a Southernly fashion the five blocks on Vermont St. between 6th St. and 11th St., I observed six bicyclists failing to observe traffic rules. The first was some hippie chick on her Huffy with a floral wicker basket mounted on the handle bars. She blows through the stop sign on Vt. and 7th, then pedals into oncoming traffic going the wrong way on the one-way section of Vermont St., her low rider khaki colored pants exposing her southern cleavage. Then some guy with an untamed Van dyke just rolls through the stop light at Vt and 7th, turning right. At the 8th St. intersection I am passed by a speeding cyclist , because I am going the 20 mph speed limit.
The 9th St intersection is dangerous with the construction at the old Arts Center, but yet again, two wheeled pedal powered road travel participants fail to comply with traffic regulations as a pair of shirtless guys ignore the signals. I approach the 10th St. and again, a bicyclist rolls blasts through a stop sign, however, You, in your blue Prius, you do need to come to a true complete stop when turning right on to Vermont St., you came close, but just not quite.

Someway there has to be a way of Restoring Honor to observance of traffic rules.

I don't have a good feeling about the Turner Gill era. I suspect he'll be gone soon after the new AD is hired. Of course, I hope I'm wrong, but this touchy, feely stuff doesn't win football games. I need hate and cursing and general disregard for athletes well-being. Gill seems to good of a person to be a college football coach.

I think they will win all 28 games and take the world cup.
