How will the KU football team do this year — losing record or winning record and a bowl game?
Asked at Wayne and Larry’s Sports Bar, 933 Iowa on August 27, 2010
“We’ll have a good, losing season.”
“KU’s going to have a losing record. It’s a new year, a new transition, I just don’t think they have the pieces for it.”
“A winning record because I have faith in my school.”
“I think they will have a winning record, but I don’t know about a bowl game.”

Isn't that an oxymoron?

Plus one player stuck in a drive-thru window.

Not under Turner Gill's watch! He has already stated and demonstrated that he will not tolerate such indiscretions.

Yesterday afternoon as I traversed in a Southernly fashion the five blocks on Vermont St. between 6th St. and 11th St., I observed six bicyclists failing to observe traffic rules. The first was some hippie chick on her Huffy with a floral wicker basket mounted on the handle bars. She blows through the stop sign on Vt. and 7th, then pedals into oncoming traffic going the wrong way on the one-way section of Vermont St., her low rider khaki colored pants exposing her southern cleavage. Then some guy with an untamed Van dyke just rolls through the stop light at Vt and 7th, turning right. At the 8th St. intersection I am passed by a speeding cyclist , because I am going the 20 mph speed limit.
The 9th St intersection is dangerous with the construction at the old Arts Center, but yet again, two wheeled pedal powered road travel participants fail to comply with traffic regulations as a pair of shirtless guys ignore the signals. I approach the 10th St. and again, a bicyclist rolls blasts through a stop sign, however, You, in your blue Prius, you do need to come to a true complete stop when turning right on to Vermont St., you came close, but just not quite.
Someway there has to be a way of Restoring Honor to observance of traffic rules.

I think Nebraska will win the Big 12 this year, oh Kansas. Yeah there going to stink!!
misterlee 2 years, 9 months ago
That N on the helmets must indeed stand for Nowledge. It should be "they're," not "there."

Ok, they're going to stink!!

Gonna be a long year, I predict. I just hope we can win a game or two in September. There doesn't appear to be enough depth on the team to survive the rigors of the Big XII season.

WILL BE LUCKY TO WIN 4 GAMES.
THAT NICE SWEET STUFF DOES NOT WIN AT THE D 1 LEVEL.

I guess it depends on how many skanky/scandalous female(s) are going to mess with the player's heads this year. :shrugs:

KU will be the worst team in the Big 12 ... it won't even be close.
RETICENT_IRREVERENT 2 years, 9 months ago
At least KU football wears helmets, damn bicyclists with out a brain pan, see who wins if I start playing by your rules.

They are already winners in my heart....and hopefully in the point spread.
riverdrifter 2 years, 9 months ago
It depends in no small part on just how good Kale Pick is. If the offense is good enough to keep their defense from having to play too many minutes & getting ground down in the second half, they could get 7 wins and a bowl bid.

Just maybe if the city didnt let a pothole (on 23rd st!) get to the point that it did, I would still have a wheel cover on my wheel.

When's the next rumble with the basketball guys set for?

Is there another useless female worth fighting over? No, Im not saying that females are useless (I am one), I am using it interchangeably with airhead, bimbo, etc.

I don't have a clue about the season record, I'll just sit back and watch it unfold. Might be like a tire fire, just grab a beer, sit back and let it burn. I do know that KU will graduate more kids than K-State will and have fewer arrests than MU.
emaw 2 years, 8 months ago
K-State is gonna put the hurt on you tree hugging hippies this October!!! And few arrests than MU? That's like being the smartest employee at McDonalds. Which, I hear, hires many recent KU grads.

September, 2011 will be the beginning of season 2. He would have to be fired based upon one season's results. Obviously you don't know the calendar.
jonas_opines 2 years, 8 months ago
I think most of us have been personally introduced to the calendar at one point or another, but the calendar is just not that approachable. Not a lot of people really know it.

Winning season, but no bowl game.Anyone have any stats on how many coaches have taken their team to a bowl game their first year? Good Luck Coach Gill! Rock chalk!!
riverdrifter 2 years, 8 months ago
"Winning season, but no bowl game." Wrong, anymore.
Winning season = bowl game, even if it is the Poulan Weedeater Bowl in some semi-frozen stadium in late December.
