Poverty crackers (Ritz) and cheddar cheese. And a diet DP. Don't want a big meal on a hot day, especially if I plan to be out in it.
(Pardon me, do you have any Grey Poupon?)

A tuna fish salad sandwich on toast with a slice of tomato and lettuce leaf with either cold pea or pasta salad. Or a big family favorite, BLT's in pita bread. Chop up into little pieces and fry a pound of bacon (or if you're lazy or hot use a package of the pre cooked stuff). Toss it like a salad with chopped lettuce and chopped tomato and mayo. Slice a pita bread in half (I prefer whole wheat) and open it up to make the pocket. Line the pocket with a slice of Swiss cheese and then stuff it with the BLT mixture. Good schtuff!

the point was something that required no heat for cooking.

At the moment I'm eating a roast beef sandwich with mayo and horse radish. Generally speaking anything I don't have to fix myself.

Wilted cucumber salad and anything that includes a thick slab of home grown beefsteak tomatoes. This morning making black been salad and a green bean salad. Hard boil eggs for breakfast for the next few days and drink the coffee iced.

BLT with thick-sliced bacon grilled over hickory chunks & then frozen weeks ago. Zap the bacon briefly then make the sandwich with chilled brandywine 'maters out of the garden. Great eating and fixed in minutes.

Surgery tomorrow, so a semi fast today and nothing by mouth after 12mn. If I could eat, I would make a great big crab or lobster salad with a side of garlic toast. Oh, and the surgery is just cataract removal. No big deal.

Do smoothies count? I have to use a blender.
ms_canada 2 years, 9 months ago
Por supuesto - smoothies make great meals.

In one of those bizarre associations, Billy Idol is linked inextricably in my mind to the food that I was eating when I first saw a video of him for White Wedding.

I agree with Nicole at the top...Lucky Charms are amazing.
Also, crackers and cheese or toast and peanut butter. Or candy, cookies, and cake.

My wife makes a cold soup of pureed canteloupe from the garden and serves with sandwiches of prosciutto on Wheatfields baguettes drizzled with seasoned olive oil. She adds a green salad and boy is it good.
cait48 2 years, 9 months ago
Anything on Wheatfields bread is going to be good. It's the only place in town where I can find truly dense wheat bread.
spaceshipearth 2 years, 9 months ago
sounds fantastic! In Italy they eat cantaloupe wrapped in proscuitto as an appetizer on very hot days. Try it sometime, it's a very good combo.

For dessert... no-bake cookies. Oatmeal, peanut butter, cocoa, sugar. Mmmm. Takes a while for them to set, though, so a little prep ahead of time is called for.
