Wheat bread with crunchy PB, light on the sugarless grape or blackberry jelly, and dunked in the chicken & rice or chicken & vegetable soup. The preferred drink would be a chocolate shake. If no soup is available, a light coating of each bread slice with margarine (PB side).
Then it's back to kindergarten.

Whole wheat Sara Lee bread, smooth peanut butter, a banana on the side and a tall glass of cold milk! A couple years and one baby ago, when I was a regular gym goer, I'd have that combo every night after working out for weeks on end and wouldn't get tired of it! For some reason, it just doesn't taste the same to me if the banana is actually on the sandwich. I don't like it!

autie, charlie, you know why they invented the mixed pb and j sandwiches, right?
Because the jelly doesn't plop out of the little kids sandwiches, and it glues the two sides together making it easier for little kids to handle all the way through eating it. Sure it takes a mixing dish and a few more seconds, but you often don't have to wipe up those dripped globs that slide out from the non mixed kind, and a child has a better chance of finishing a sandwich with both sides still connected in the manner in which you made it, instead of slide half apart with one piece torn, etc
Some jelly is wetter, so mixing that says the bread as well. Lasts longer in lunch boxes as far as the soggy feel, but bread still dries the same.
Hey, did you two used to eat that with Taco flavored Doritos when they came out? Made for a fine Sat morning breakfast in front of cartoons if I could get away with it, lol.
It took a lot of talking to get out of the normal breakfast routine, usually a major cleaning day that mom really wanted to get started..and me out of the way! Went down good with a Dr Pepper.
(i find this combo rather unappealing at this moment, hehe)
