fuel_for_the_fire: Good point. I must say, I have floccinaucinihilipilificated some of the LJW editor's columns in the past.

There is one word I get a kick out of pronouncing the way Arnold S. does - Caleefoinya

It's not really possible for me to have one favorite word. I can't have just one. It's words that have that sound that connotes a language rhythm that appeals to me. Under that umbrella are, for instance: - manuscript- reticulate- chimerical- silver - incommunicado, etc., etc., I've long felt that if I ever do write anything of public importance I would include words that I don't normally find in daily speech or type. I often think it perhaps refreshing if people could "ride" the words, not "read" them. One denotes a thing that waits to be done. The other, I think, is a better way. That's just me : ) Windlass : )

Crossfire (Anonymous) says… "…………..there are 7…………………still can't say any of them."SPCFCSMFTI'm sure you can't say any on this forum, but I have heard at least the four with asteriks on television.

That word does not exist in any language. It can never be uttered by a human mouth.

omega, just don't say it 3 times!

Crossfire "..there are 7…………………still can't say any of them." ==CF; you can say at least one of these words, according to G. Carlin, but word order counts:"I pricked my finger."

"Inundated" and "Multi-grain Cheerios".My favorite phrase to say to my neighbors is "shut up" I think that now might be the time to remind them that they keep me up all night with their stupidity.

Maybe I will take it back. "inundated" is a favorite word of mine because I feel bombarded by retarded media forms and it is inundated that I feel while I am trying to sort through the things I am trying to pay attention to instead of the things that most grab my attention or are trying to at least. So today's favorite word is "inundated".

I suppose it could be one of my two favorite disorders from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of mental disorders:Trichotillomania and Frotteurism.

Ineffable. It is a word that describes something that cannot be said in words. Weird paradox there.

i like to use the word "guesstimate" but my hubby says it isn't a word....To me, estimate means an educated guess. But if I have no clue, then I am just plain shot-in-the-dark guessing.

Strategary.I also love calling people f**ktards.

The words I like can not be spelled out onto this forum, so I guess I'll go with "monkey."

Well jonas, I was going to suggest you got that from having watched "Sleeper" as a child...but I don't think you were born then!(omg)

0

jonas_opines 5 years, 3 months ago

Any word with "tron" in it. I haven't yet come across one that I don't like. Not to suggest there might not be.

My favorite word is s*@t. It's a general, all-purpose word.

HA!!!! Nice Valkyrie!!!! Is that also meant to be a commentary on the question of the day, or of the LJW in general?

Pywacket 5 years, 3 months ago

Syzygy. Found it by accident in the dictionary once while looking up something else. It means the alignment of 3 or more celestial bodies--like when the moon lines up with Mars and Jupiter, for instance.

"comfort" is my favorite word because of the feeling it evokes. I could choose a big word or one with a complex definition but I think I went for the feeling it evokes because you asked my favorite word.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

0

fuel_for_the_fire 5 years, 3 months ago

Hands down, it has to be "historicalicity"; right, Jonas?

0

Deja Coffin 5 years, 3 months ago

It's not my favorite word but I use 'definitely' a lot! My cousin and I figured out that when we type back to eachother I use LOL a lot and she types ahahaha a lot. I asked my 4 year old what her favorite word is and she said, "beautiful" then I asked my 1 year old and she did a lot of baby jabber but it sounded like, "my mom rocks!"
