What do you think about rising fuel costs in Lawrence?

“They are going up, but $1.69 is a lot better than $4. I don’t mind it right now, but I won’t like it this summer if it gets to $3.50 and $4.”

“Truthfully, it doesn’t affect me a lot because I do live so near campus. For our students, I think that’s probably the bigger problem because they have field placements that generally aren’t in Kansas.”

“Last week, it was $1.49 and now suddenly it’s $1.60 or something like that, and I follow the paper and they said yesterday it was going to go down, but I haven’t seen any decrease.”

“Well, I wish I knew what the cause was. I wonder if it’s a little bit of speculation, a little bit of investors getting involved in the oil game.”

I think they're rising! Also, they're fuel costs!

I think the rising fuel costs in Lawrence are still about $0.30 cheaper than the rising fuel costs here.

I was thinking the same thing, ohjay -- I paid $1.95 to fill up yesterday.

$1.95 per gallon, I mean. Not $1.95 total. Although that would be pretty amazing.

Just wait.... the State and Fed fuel taxes will follow any continued decrease in Fuel prices. That should take care of it.

I'm somewhat glad the fuel prices went up this summer because it made me walk more places and drive less. Now it's winter and I don't want to walk but if the prices go up, I'll buy and scarf and deal with it.
