“Yes. We bought new storm windows this summer, and I just moved my herbs and flowers inside.”

“We just added storm doors to the house, and I’m thinking I should take a look at the attic to make sure it’s still properly insulated.”

“I haven’t done anything yet. I’m kind of bad about that sort of thing.”

“Not really, unless you count unpacking the blankets so we don’t have to turn the heat on. But I’m wanting to put up some plastic on the windows to keep some of the heat in.”

Olive Oyl sighting!Monday I had the house winterized so I can shut off the gas and water. The hardware store man shuts off the water and unplugs it, because he's learned the city valves leak, and ruins his work. He'll then pour RV anitfreeze through every pipe in the house until it runs out at the meter.I have no idea how much that's going to cost me.With the super tall ceilings here, and the church size windows, there's no telling what will happen. The furnace is new, and highly rated for energy savings.I found the cords to the electric blanket..now just where is the blanket?

Does slipping into a deep depression whilst unpacking sweaters and blankets count? No? Okay, then no I haven't done anything to prep. for winter.

Hubby swept the flue and put some wood on the porch. Got out extra blankets. Brought the plants in. Been catching all sorts of critters ever since!

Sarge, doesn't winter in Michigan go from about the end of September through early July?

Seeing as how winter happens every year ... none. Well, I suppose I'll be taking the air conditioner out of the window, but that's pretty much it.

I've been burning all the mice that sneak inside. I knew that damn cat was going to be worth something someday.
